Installed:
  plymouth-plugin-spinfinity.i586 0:0.7.0-0.2009.03.10.3.fc11

[root@penfold ~]# plymouth-set-default-plugin plymouth-plugin-pulser

/usr/lib/plymouth/plymouth-plugin-pulser.so does not exist


But if you locate:

locate plymouth &#124; grep -i pul
/usr/lib/plymouth/pulser.so


So maybe try
1.plymouth-set-default-plugin pulser
then /usr/libexec/plymouth/plymouth-update-initrd</description>
