Howto: Installing Sticky Notes on Linux | Fedora | Ubuntu

Hello,

Now a days, Making Notes or Task List Is most important part in our life, We are used to Write Notes and Remembering task by Some Small Task Applications.

In Windows 7, Sticky Notes application is very famous and If you want similar kind of thing on Linux then XPad is your friend, I don’t say its complete alternative but its good one. My Experience is very nice with XPAD.

In Linux there are many task/notes applications, But I feel Only Two Applications are Fantastic for Task Related things.

1. Tomboy

2. XPAD

In This article I will explain that How to Install XPAD in Linux for Ubuntu and Fedora Both. Its very easy to Install Applications on Linux.

To Install XPAD (Sticky Notes ) on Linux | Fedora | Ubuntu then Please look at Following steps :-

1. Become rootย  to Install Xpad on Ubuntu or Fedora.

2. Execute Following command to install on Fedora :-
[root@tejas-barot-linux-ahmedabad ~]# yum install xpad

3. Execute Following command to Install on Ubuntu :-
root@tejas-barot-linux-ahmedabad:~# apt-get update
root@tejas-barot-linux-ahmedabad:~# apt-get install xpad

4.That’s It.

By Performing Above steps it will Install XPAD ( Sticky Notes ) On Linux.

  2. Why not edit it for ubuntu to read:

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install xpad

    It’s much closer to how Ubuntu is used by the vast majority of users.
