Download Managers Linux | Fedora 10 | Fedora 11 | Fedora 12 | Fedora 13

Hello Friends,

Today I am going to post very nice and Import post for Linux.

There are many peoples who are asking that is there Download Manager is Available in Linux? Answer is Yes, There are some download managers available on Linux Platform So you can try.

Right Now I am considering three Download Managers for Linux :-

1) Gwget Download Manager

2) MultiGet Download Manager

3) SKDownloader

You can install Gwget Download Manager and MultiGet Download Manager using YUM Client. To Install SKDownloader, You have download .sh file from Website. Below are the websites and Installation websites Information.

3) Once you get installation Complete message. Execute multiget command on Terminal. You will get a MultiGet Download Manager GUI.

4) If you want to open it using GUI then  Go to Applications -> Internet -> and click on MultiGet.

========================== Install Gwget Download Manager

1) You need to be root to execute below command.

2) Execute yum -y install gwget*

3) Once you get installation Complete message. Execute gwget command on Terminal. You will get a Gwget Download Manager GUI.

4) If you want to open it using GUI then  Go to Applications -> Internet -> and click on Gwget Download Manager.

========================================== Install SKDownloader

1) You need to be root to execute below command.

2) Go to website http://www.toolsbysk.com/ and Download skdownloader_linux_install.sh.

2) Execute sh /your-downloaded-path/skdownloader_linux_install.sh

3) Once you get installation Complete message. Execute skdownloader command on Terminal. You will get a SKDownloader Download Manager GUI.

4) If you want to open it using GUI then  Go to Applications -> Internet -> and click on SKDownloader.

All are very good download Managers, I suggest all of you to prefer Gwget as first priority, MultiGet as Second Priority and SKDownloader as Third Priority. Because reason is as follow.

Gwget :- Gwget is frontend for wget utility of Linux. GwGet is based on wget command line Linux Utility. This utility is very strong and very stable utility of Linux so surely you can use without any doubt.

MultiGet :- MultiGet is also nice tool. This tool is a bit slow and some times it cannot work in slow internet and some times it’s unable to continue paused downloads not always but some times.

SKDownloader :- This Download Manager is too slow. Because whenever you loads this application you need a strong internet because it loads internet Advertisement with it’s application. So It’s become very slow.

I have not tested all above download managers with Ubuntu Desktop Edition, Ubuntu Server Edition or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) But i think it should work. If any one tries it and its working then please update me with same.

Hope you all like this post. Enjoy Downloading with Start, Pause, Stop and Continue on Linux …………………… 🙂

Let me have your feedback…….. Waiting……..
