Started Using Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal and not much impressive with that atleast as of now. Think for Bugs before Using Ubuntu 12.10 Version.
It is bit slow and there are few bugs also I have faced, But Bug which is i am going to mentioned is from very widely used package and that Package name is “grep“.
I was just doing my regular activity on Ubuntu 12.10 Linux and Suddenly i was getting some unexpected result using grep command. and Specially it was totally wrong result when i was trying to get output using “grep” with pipe “|”.
So I thought to submit this bug to Ubuntu ( Lauchpad Just Before few minutes) and also thought to write for the same so user will get informed by the same bug.
Please find following Expected and Unexpected Behaviours of command :-
> Expected Behaviour of “grep -r” command
=> grep -r <grep-text> should not give any output if i do not specify path of file, and also cat tejasbarot.txt | grep -r “tejasbarot”
should not give any output if there is no matching text in tejas.txt
> Unexpected Behaviour of “grep -r” command
If I execute grep -r “tejasbarot123” without specifying file’s path it is searching in Current Working Directory and if i am search in this way cat tejasbarot.txt | grep -r “tejasbarot123” even if its not matching the text it is trying to search in all files of current working directory.
